Richard & Steph’s Wedding | Dunston Hall Hotel | Norwich | Norfolk
After having already spent time with Richard and Steph at their Botanical Gardens Engagement Shoot, I already knew to expect a wedding-day couple that were fun loving, family oriented and very much in love.
The wedding day began with an early start at 7am, as Steph had her hair done by Flamingo Amy in the Penthouse Suite of Dunston Hall Hotel, Norwich. Any Wedding Photographer will tell you that venue and lighting are key to great pictures, so I was delighted when we arrived to the light, airy and modern room.
The smell of coffee and fresh pastry filled the Suite and Steph was the vision of glowing bride-to-be as she drank tea from a china teacup. She and her bridesmaids giggled with a mixture of excitement and nerves through their Melissa Abel makeup session and before we knew it, it was time to go and find the (slightly nervous) Groom…
After documenting Richard and his groomsmen with their preparations, It was time for Steph to get in her dress, Richards Mum calming the nerves of Steph by reciting phrases from my all time favourite film Despicable Me comparing me to one of the lead characters Gru…Telling Steph to imagine a little chick popping out of my head, I was in fits of laughter at this point!!
The memory of Steph walking down the aisle is one I will never forget, since so many of the guests were emotional as she took the slow steps down the aisle with her Dad. The ceremony room was bright and decorated with elegant chair covers and beautiful Summery flowers.
Once outside, the fun began! What can I say – the sun was shining, laughing friends and family played games on the lawn, and a string quartet provided the perfect background music to a gorgeous sunny afternoon. It was the perfect mixture of fun, frivolity and class, which extended on to the wedding breakfast in the marquee. The speeches were touching and the guests listened with smiles as they enjoyed their afternoon.
After the meal, as the sun started to go down, I took the newlyweds for a couples’ photoshoot on the golf course. This was one of the best moments of the day from the point of view of a wedding photographer, since the sun streamed through the clouds, giving the opportunity for me to use the light and capture some truly emotive snaps. The happy couple were so relaxed at this point that it could only go well!
Later, we all danced the night away and a fantastic evening was had by all. This wedding gave a true sense of friends, family, laughter, love and living life to the full. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard and Steph for allowing me to share their gorgeous Norfolk Wedding, and I wish them all the best for their long and happy future.
