I had met  Jemma and Adam for the first time earlier on last year and we had discussed having a wintery scene for their engagement shoot… last Saturday was the perfect opportunity as Norfolk had a blanket of snow fall a few days previously.

Whitlingham Country park was our destination as Jemma had many happy memories from playing here as a child.

It was my first time visiting the park and having lived in Norfolk all my life I couldn’t believe this conservation area was so close to Norwich.  The park was full of twitchers as a ‘Bittern’ had benn spotted earlier that morning which was apparently very rare to be in the area!?!

A ‘very cold’ stroll around the park gave us a great opportunity to grab some lovely  shots and chat about wedding plans, with a nice hot cup of tea in the cafe, ending what was a great few hours of photography.

Saturday 24th November 2012

Ruth, Darrel and I ventured out early to Wells beach, North Norfolk on a very cold a windy Saturday morning to take their engagement photo’s. It was awesome as the beach was deserted and practically had it all to ourselves.  We walked along the beach and discussed their plans for their wedding which was taking place in December and had a Christmas theme to it.

I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Leziate Lakeside Function suite in December.

I finally got to meet David and Rachel two weeks before their wedding was due to happen as they lived in London and only came back to Norfolk to visit David’s parents every so often.  It felt strange being booked without a client consultation but from the telephone calls that I had with Rachel this didn’t worry me too much as I knew it was going to be a special day.

Rachel and David fell in love after they met when Rachel moved to London from Texas to study, David being originally from Norfolk it made the perfect setting place to hold their wedding.

24 guests traveled from all over the world to celebrate their day with them, spending the morning with Rachel’s family was the most emotional bridal prep to date, I had to fight to hold back the tears as the family spoke with Grandma back home in Texas who sadly didn’t make it over for the wedding.

The emotions carried on through the day with a very personal service held in Cranworth Church, and then back for the wedding breakfast at Broom Hall Hotel, Watton.

David was accompanied by best man Chris and rachel had her sisters Amy and Erin.

Thank you for booking me for such a wonderful day, It’ll certainly be a day that holds in my memory for a while.
